3 Too Many

Saturday 26 January Ramble

“Don’t follow me, I walk into walls.” – Unknown

Sleep, who needs sleep?  In all seriousness between Fri evening and Saturday breakfast I had about 2 1/2 hours sleep due to pain and discomfort.  Back pain went from almost zero on Friday (a time to celebrate as it meant feeling almost normal again briefly), and also not slugging back pain killers and numerous other drugs to keep functioning.  By Saturday night I was exhausted to the max , but happy as it was due to having a fantastic weekend so far.

Saturday started about 5:30am for me, as couldn’t sleep anymore.  Up and try to do the blog from Friday but the hand is to sore to be able to use the keyboard or mouse.  So shuffle off to get the paper.  Breakdown half way down the driveway.  Give it a min or so then manage to keep going slowly but surely.  Mission accomplished – inside to make a cuppa tea to reward myself ;-)  have some breakfast and a read of the paper.  Manage to catch my finger for the first time today (the end of the splint is overhanging by about 1cm from the end of my pinky finger).  Do the pained man jig (the dance around that you tend to do when you hurt  a body part.  Sue gets up and we run through the plan of the day – in other words anything that we want need to get done.  Sue bags and tapes up my hand, and I hit the shower.  Not brave enough to cut my hair though, so it’ll wait till tomorrow.

Dressed and get on with some 1 handed chores.  The boys have finally dragged themselves from the beds, and are give their instructions for the day.  We load the broken trampoline steel into the Ute and Sue and Lachie take it off to the scrap metal dealer.  They return a little later on – Lachie got a wee bit of pocket money for his effort but it is better recycled than dumped.  Leroy is here, as he has stopped by on his way back to Nelson after spending 3 weeks working in Dunedin.  Great to see you man.  Say Hi to all your lovely family.  Have a very quite, lazy day from here in, as can’t do much with the paw in a sling.  Have a laydown for 20 mins while Sue goes to have coffee with a friend in Halswell – Sue wakes me about 2 hours later.  Feeling really good for the rest though.  Have dinner then, do the Friday blog – which is a major effort with my hand bound up, so investigating other options of how to do it.  The sit down to watch a movie – Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.  Very funny movie, would recommend it.  M&D time and bed then.

Hope all have had a fun Saturday, and enjoyed every bit of it.  Take care.  I will try to get a start early on Sunday’s blog seen as this how long it takes now to get something typed.  And also we are off to Nitro Circus tonight too, so the inner bogan is trying to come out.  I will sort the pics out now too, seen as folk have asked for some.
